Water temp: 49 Weather: Hot and sunny for Dec. Bait : J. Gizzard shad Techniques : Down-rods with 2oz egg sinkers Time: 2:00pm until 4:00pm Place: Mid-lake on Roanoke arm Fish- all small fish Well, I have not fished since August and it felt good to get back on the water. We started off at Captain Quarters and headed up lake checking spots.. We marked a few fish just up lake from Stoney. No takers.. We left those fish and drove around wasting gas as we checked more spots. After about an hour of driving around we end up going back to where we started. (Just up lake from Stoney.) We marked a few fish there again... This time they were biting.. We boated our limit of 6 fish in short order. My boy was working on them: Time to call it day:
