Been fishing at hardy every time this year, with the rains I figured it may be pretty muddy on Friday. Looking for any advice as to where I could go on my kayak further down. Somewhere I could get some peanuts with the throw net and fish relatively close to the launch. Thanks for any help.

There is a small ramp in the back of beaver dam and enough peanuts to sink your boat. I would definitely go there if I were you.

The ramp yam is talking about I think is a private ramp, for the subdivision, only two ramps above the bridge towards Hardy that are open to the public is Hardy and Moormans, River did not seem to be up when I crossed it this afternoon in Salem, may not get much mud downstream. If the rain did run off the back of Beaverdam will be muddy, also Linville will be muddy most likely from the timber cut area. Indian Point might be a idea for clear water.

What about the ramp at the beginning of Indian? Near the marinade and hotel...Is that public or private ?

With a kayak, I am thinking he can have a few more options than just public ramps.

Most people with private ramps do not care if its a yak or canoe or even a small one man tube-they pay for their ramp and do not want people using it. I ran into that few years ago when staying with a friend and did not have the local sticker on my truck. Sheriff was waiting for us when we came back in---took some explaining.

Appreciate all the help, looking at the rain totals, it may not be that bad around hardy. May even try moormans. Yeah I always pay when I use a boat ramp. I have tried putting in at other areas like parks and stuff, you would have thought I had squatted and dumped on the sidewalk the way some acted. As for moormans , does anyone know the ramp fee?
