So..today started out like it was going to be one of those all day striper fests. Red skies in the morning, stripers take warning! Uhhhhh...NOPE! Birds were everywhere but we could not get on any schools. I only managed one on the spoon for our morning cawww fest. Thus, we decided to pull some of the beautiful bait we ...UHHHHH... I mean I... caught last night. My partner made the mistake of messing around with Big T. He threw a pancake like the pro he is...but then Big T threw his butt in bed. And as we deployed our spread today, my partner and I discussed how the Big Bait bite is probably over and that the colder water means we might need to slow down. So of course, as we sped up to 1.2 mph, our biggest bait (MONGOLOID) got slammed. Then we proceeded to have one of my most fun days on the water. We caught a few more fatties, but they were just a distraction from the belly grinding laughing that took place on the boat today. Just too much fun... For example, we got tired of them birds leading us down wrong roads so we decided to use my new (Bentrod Recommended) net and chase them birds like butterflies! That long extension arm on that net is just stupid funny. CAWWWWWWWWW! And at 10 pm this evening as I threw BIG T for an hour or so, we decided to stop at 2 dozen whales as a shooting star shot across Orion's belt. And tomorrow we will pull a shad fest once again aiming our boards at rocks and trees and docks content to catch one monster fish or bust.
