I'm new here all though I've followed for years ... Went out this morning caught one and missed at least 4, but I was curious on how many folks catch white bass and what is thoughts on these fish. My brother in-law is like catch'em, eat 'em and get rid of them..I tried to add a pic of the one I caught today but couldn't. Oh well. Fishing is great up in the end of the black water. Bait is heavy..

You sure it was a white bass? They look identical to stripers only smaller with a more defined hump behind their head. A lot of folks confuse white perch with bass. They are good to eat but pretty boney.

Common mistake I am constantly correcting my fishing buds. I had a school of those little bas#$%%s swim along under my boat a while back. For about 20 min we could not get lines baited in the water.;D

Sadly, I'd like nothing more than to catch one of those on my fly rod. Seems like a fun way to spend an afternoon. . . .

My son and I got into a school of them on a point near Indian creek and caught over 50 of them with a topwater Pop R. It was a blast.
