Well, my report is really everyone elses BUT mine. I didn't catch jack diddly today. Wore out my arm good flinging that flyrod, but the striper weren't amused. To make their sentiment known, they consistently bit the live bait from other boats as it was towed through the areas I'd just fished. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to fish an area for 30 minutes only to watch someone pass by and see their planer board boards disappear? Not once, but over and over an over today.
SO, today I was thinking, "Gosh, all that cast netting/bait catching sure does sound more appealing than THIS ridiculous sport. I even had a cast net on the boat, bait rods rigged under the gunnel, but my compulsion wouldn't release me. So, for roughly 7 hours, I flogged the water uselessly and (generously) let everyone else around me catch fish.
Today, fly fishing sucks.
(Already planning my next trip, though)
OH, on a brighter note, I did get to meet Striped Yam out there! Striped Yam - nice boat!

We were so rooting for you. Your determination is inspirational for fellow maniacs and addicts. I'm truly sorry you didn't land one today but it seems there is something more to fly fishing than catching a fish.
Great meeting you.
