I just came back from a saltwater trip... We were there to chase false albacore, but the backup plan was to try for kingfish if the false albacore were not there. The first day we were running out the sound and spotted some menhaden flipping on top. I dug my net out and told my buddy to point the boat at the flips. Loaded the net, threw a pancake (without using my teeth!), dumped about 20 menhaden in the livewell and put the net away. We chased false albacore all day, and didn't use the bait, but throwing a pancake on those pogies made my day! Did you get out to harkers then?? Scratch that, just found the report in the saltwater section. Still drooling. . . .
