Here is a quick video from last week when I came upon some breaking fish. The video is a bit foggy and most of the splashes were not seen on film.
However, if you watch closely, you will see that immediately after a striper breaks, my spoon hits the water about 2 feet away from it. How lucky can a guy get?
This video also shows how I usually catch fish on a spoon. That is, horizontal jigging and then bringing it in fast. The fish seem to like it fast!

Looky what I found! Nice fish!
I hate when they strike and bring the bait to the boat!! This video reminds me of that for some reason! Looks like the fish struck after you tried setting the hook the first time because the poll never got weight back on it again! Then you put the rod down to try to feel your way back to the bait! And low and behold it was a fish on the end! Its automatic to put the rod tip down for when you do finally feel the fish again you can get the most leverage on the hook set!!
Good video as always yam!!

Good video as always yam!! Actually what happened was I got hit at the beginning and I jigged a bit and then started a fast retrieve. My guess is that the first hit attracted some buddies to the spoon and as I tried to get it back in to throw back out , that fish couldn't let it get away. The hit was on a tight line and this happens most for me. That is screaming it through the school triggers a bite.
