Had limited time this weekend due the Charity Home Tour that I attended with my wife and some friends. But was able to fish (not catch) a little in the mornings before the tours started. I didn't have high hopes when I left for SML this weekend of catching fish with the limited time, weather, the south & east winds, and the lunar moon.
Saturday 5 am: Foggy & misty. Caught enough ales (3-4 inches) at my light to last me the few hours I had to fish. I stayed close to home, wasn't quite sure what the weather was going to bring and left in the fog. Fished down lines and light lines until 9 am at the mouth of some coves. NO takers! Did mark some? scattered fish.
Sunday 5 am: Pretty nice out, rain on the way though. To my disappointment there was no bait at my light. Not the way to start the morning. In search I went for about an hour or so for bait. Bait seemed scattered also. Pulled in to one cove and 50% of the cove was covered in white perch/bass (screen was completely littered with them). Impossible to get ales or gizzards thru them. So with only a couple hours left to fish I broke out the U-rig and tried to snag something. Pulled thru some pretty good scattered fish, but still no takers. Threw to some banks hoping to pick up something but NO! And so came the rain, frustrated I didn't fish much longer. Was back at the dock around 9 headed to Jonathan's for brunch.
Both days I was marking them in 30-40FOW.
