I got out this morning real early and was greeted with some dense fog. Hardy was loaded with peanuts and I couldn't move. Thus, I finally decided to try my under water lights. OMG...they worked...within 10 minutes, the ales were everywhere under my boat. I had never caught an ale at Hardy before today. I originally bought these lights for attracting bait but never was forced to try them and quite frankly was not sure they would really work. In terms of fishing, I am happy to report that things are setting up real nice. I did not go down to the fleet but did manage to catch several stripers and catfish. Here are a few shots of 2-8 pounders which were my biggest fish for the day....not counting the 12 lb cat. Again, things are looking like they are going to bust REAL SOON! BTW.. all my fish were caught on light (behind the boat) and down lines. I had no luck with planers or mongos.

Yam,can you post a pic or two of your lights? Nice report. One of the underwater lights (Lifeform9) is shown below. And here is another picture of the lights in the water.

Lifeform's look like nice nights - been watching them for a while now. I've also heard a lot of good things about CoastNightLights's lights - not as slim-lined, but great customer service. I've been thinking abut putting some lights on for a while - pre-wired things for it when I finally get around to doing it / picking some out. Keep thinking about getting two-color - blue/green - green for bait / blue for "cool" Always wondered how well blue would do in the lake water - does really well in coastal waters that are clearer - seems the feeling is green is better in lake water but I wonder if it really matters....

I remember reading about the various colors for the various scenarios and choosing blue because because it was the best for all conditions. However, blue is not the best for any single condition. And quite frankly, I don't think it matters one bit. A light attracts everything from plankton to people tripping on LSD on the banks. I say pick the color you like and do it. My lights do work well at the ramps out of water at night. They won't overheat and are very protected. However, they cost way too much! And make sure you are capable of drilling a half inch hole all the way through your transom without throwing up!

Damn it YAM!!! Just bought a set of the Lifeform6 Fishing series in green.
This is how it goes when the wife gets home tonight.
Wife: What the hell did you buy for the boat now?!?!
Me: Pretty green lights for the boat honey.
Wife: You need those like you need a hole in the head
Me: But Sweety, They were on sale and we saved 120.00
Wife: That's a bargain. Nice job.
Fingers crossed!!
