Headed out Friday night to catch bait. Tried several places with no luck but finally found the right spot. Had a nice selection of medium to large ales and 3 nice gizzards. Thanks again Mward for the tip about not leaving the scale box in the tank overnight. It clogged up in no time. We headed out about 6:30 Am Saturday WT 74 warming to 77 by noon. Fished where everyone else was at below the bridge. Tried a little of everything. 2 downlines,2 long light lines, 2 ales on light line boards, 2 gizzards on free line boards, 1 ale on a light line float, and a partridge in a pear tree. Caught one 4lb striper on the float. The gizzards seemed nervous a few times but got no real action. The long light lines got pulled down a couple of times but no other luck. The boat traffic was bad after about 10am. My son commented that if we would add salt to the lake he would think we were at the beach. Called it a day about noon. The new bait tank is awesome. I can’t wait, fall is almost here!

Nice report - way to break in the tank. Will be time to fill it up with gizzards soon. You'll have to really watch the scale basket then as it clogs fast with gizzard slime.

good looking bait, look lively, sometimes the fish just don't eat, I've seen the whole rod vibrate cause the shad was nervous, at least you had a good on the water. And as Mike said won't be long and the gizzards will be big enough to use.
