Had two good days this week on the Roanoke. Checked out the normal creeks but not much to be found. Moved out to the main channel and found a school. They stayed under us for nearly two hours however the bite was really slow. Fishing with ales on down lines, water temp around 80. Eventually got six, kept four for this weekend's fish fry, safely released two. Ales coming to the light on my dock however not many, have to go down early and make a lot of throws to get a few dozen or so. Found another school on Thursday off the mouth of a creek. School coming and going for a little over an hour. Again, slow to bite. Only got three out this bunch. Saw a lot of bait so maybe they are feeding a lot so not very aggressive hitting my ales on downlines. Overall,, for me, a good week since I don't usually slay them like many of you do....

Sweet!
We were on a very similar school as you last Saturday that wouldn't bite good either..had to just work them over to get some to eat (figure 8s, etc.), but the school didn't move either so that was nice.

Oh yeah, forgot add... No schools found on Friday however did manage to get three from scatter groups off main channel points in deeper water.
