Thursday / Friday / Saturday AM -- beautiful - sunny -- morning trips 6am to 830am -- evenings 7pm to 9pm
Bait -- All ales --
Thursday Morning -- by myself -- 3 releases - no good stories --
Thursday PM -- my son and friend bailed on me -- 630pm ask the father 3 docks down if he would like to come because he had shown a interest with all the fishing action around our dock all week and he said lets go!!!!
Worked my usual pattern -2 different points -20 to 45 feet -- drop the bait down when fish are found and always be dragging 2 light lines behind boat -best evening rotation of the trip -1 8LB channel cat -3 fish under 22/23/23 quick releases -- 1 - 25 inch and 27 inch for the table -- heading to next point 815pm -- no love --
Friday morning -- 2 releases -- all under 22inches
Friday Night -- My sons friend came along again and the stripers told me it was time to go home -- we were in them BUT between wind blowing - all the lines getting tangled - forgetting the net again --2 broke off on the propeller blade -- 1 fish 24inches and the release -- maybe I had just had enough fishing
total hours on the water fishing / bait in the morning 55 hours ---- wife has officially put me on fishing probation --
Overall it was a wonderful trip not only for my family but the fishing could not have been better -- everyone caught a fish but my wife -- Thank you Smith mountain -- you boys who fish there on a regular basis have a wonderful fishery
See you all in November for BIG SHAD fishing!!!!!!!
