I have been striper fishing @ buggs for a couple of years. I would like to try out the fishing on SML. Looking to come out sometime in Sept. Any technics or baits that work best. I have never been on the lake. Where are good locations for this time of year?
Thanks for any advise.

September is a transition month. So the stripers can be at many places on the lake. The best way to figure it out is to keep reading posts on this forum. That goes for what to fish with as well. If you are going to do well you have to do your homework. That is in this case to read the forum often.

Also - take a look at the older post in the reports section from last year / year before - the patterns are fairly consistent in terms of location across time of year / water temp. Are you an artificial guy or setup for live-bait? If I had to have only one artificial lure for SML it would be a pearl Zoom SuperFluke with 3/8 to 3/4 oz.jig heads (does that count as one bait What time of Sept will you be at SML - early Sept vs late Sept can be very different fisheries.

If I had to choose one lure, it would be a 2 oz cabellas real image spoon...glow color.
If I had to choose one bait, it would be a 16 inch shad.
If I had to choose one location, it would be anywhere everyone else isn't but somewhat close to where the majority of people are.
