Does anybody have some suggestions on how to mark mono??, I was thinking about trying a permanent marker but didn't know if that would work.

Just cut notches in it. If that doesn't work try the marker. I do know someone that uses a marker at 10 yd. increments and it works for him.

I have used a permanent marker but it is very hard to see unless its on the spool. I don't know your reasons for marking but I sometimes troll crankbaits on monofilament and I will pull off 100 ft of line and marking it with a tiny rubber band tied real tight with a overhand knot. It usually stays on there pretty well and when you spool it out you can feel it. You can also use those line stops but they are very hard to move. Don't know much other way to mark it.
