Filleted a 30 in striper we caught today near Christmas Is. The flesh had dark spots, almost black, all in the flesh. The spots were of various size with the smallest being the size of a pepper flake and the largest being about three times that size. They appear to be round. I have never seen this before and am wondering what it might be. Anyone know what this is? Thanks

I've not seen that - any pics? Maybe some type of parasite / worm?

I did not take pictures but should have. Maybe it was some type of parasite or worm but I certainly have never seen it before. The fish seemed very healthy otherwise.

I've seen it discussed on here before. I think someone asked Dan Wilson about it, but I can't remember the details. Hopefully someone remembers...
