Slipped out for the evening on Friday for some fishing with my Wife. AT was 87 when we launched and WT was 81.3 at launch. Boat traffic was pretty minimal and the lake was pretty calm. Since it was the wife fishing with me we decided that jigging wasn't an option and pulled u-rigs. Fished fairly shallow and we marked some small schools of very small fish. Ended up with one keeper (29") and 7 others ranging from 20" to 25".
After I finished with my chores on Saturday we decided to try it again and launched around 3 p.m. and boy was that a mistake. The lake was crazy with crazy traffic. Ended up finding a cove and swimming for a few hours until the traffic died down a bit. It died down just a little bit and I hit it (the fishing). Same methods as the day before. Fished for 2 hours without a hit and finally around 7:30 we put the first fish in the boat. Traffic picked up so much that it was almost too rough to fish. At one point I had 7 boats pulling someone or something and they felt like they needed to pull them as close to me as possible. We ended up with 3 fish and called it a day.
Sorry no pics. Wife said her butt looked too big.
Side note:
I would like to applaud the group of young men that came very close, while recovering a skier, and apologized for getting too close. On another note: I picked up several beer cans and bottles that came from a wake boat. I watched them throw things in the lake several times. That is completely unacceptable and really ticks me off. When I finally caught them sitting still I had to say something to the operator and he told me to mind my own business. Can't say what I said to him after that but lets just say he won't be doing it in front of me again. Can't wait for Fall. Tight lines friends.
