Weather: clear, 70 to 80, no wind Water: 81, 6 ft visibility Moon: Full, setting at dawn Method: Suttons and bucktails on leadcore, jigging spoons and flukes Started at legal dawn on the lower BW. Sent an hour tweaking spoons and leadcore depth then found some fish. Marked fish all morning 20-50' in pods and big schools. Put 2 spoons and 2 bucktails from 20-30', 2.3 mph. Spoons tuned to spin out at 2.5, all bites on outside spoons going through turns. Tells me they preferred a spinning rather than wobbling spoon today. Got 1 25" striper to the boat and a 19" MLB also. Had 4 pull off and missed 2 more. No love on the jigs, did that for an hour. Only a few swats and twisted spoons. My pregnant wife joined me and we had a blast. Our first striper trip of the year! Too busy on wp and walleye .
