No its not to early go have some fun, this weekend was slow but we been catching them, don't fish the lower end but they are biting mid lake, I have saw a couple of boats with out lights and there are a couple a YAKs fishing in the evening look out for them but they were over near the banks when I saw those. Good Luck and be safe!!!

I will be putting in at Smith mountain boat dock and will be fishing the mountain and the islands at the mouth of craddock if the wind lets me the next couple of nights I will post when I get back, only get to do about once a year usually late may so I may be wasting my time but still better than working.

I just moved in a place at Mitchells Point and checked Craddocks pretty frequent over the past week. Not much going on as of Friday...Marked very little in the way of bait or fish. I scouted Hatchers all the way back to the shallows as well as the following coves back to about 6 feet deep.Mid lake..lots going on .. State Park on down is a good area to scout Lots of top water with Stripers/LM chasing alewives
