Finally getting settled in at Mitchells Point. I have to say the transition has been great as well as the owners..neat people. Put in around 3:30pm and fished until 6:30pm. Water temps 57....went down to 56 as I headed up river. For the heck of it I scouted the back of Craddocks for about 20 min..not a single thing. Decided to head up river on a "gut feeling" Glad I did. Only caught mixed sized of Alewifes ..hanging in the shallows.. Pulled those around on planers with light split shots as well as light lines ..BAAM .. ended up putting 6 stripers in the boat..missed I dont know how many more and caught 1 nice largemouth. I got tired of setting up the planers so went light line toward the end with equal success. No size to speak of with the largest come in at 5lbs...still a lot of fun Funny moment...I texted a buddy to get him out this week and as I was typing my sonar picked up a small school. I texted him that I would send him a picture of 1 of the fish I just past over in a few secs..as I sent it..Bam..fish on.. it was a dink but pretty funny none the less...heres a pic..look at my boot for reference Attachments:

I hope so! Ive set 2 goals this year..Break my 14lb best and catch one on artificial...based on what I saw today I may be reaching one tom. Ive heard stories over the years and looking forward to it down stream. Not extremely excited about the increased pressure and boat traffic but such is life on SML..

Piper, Come this fall, when you find yourself squirming from the weather alerts, high winds, horrible cold, sleet. Bundle up, get out of your cave, find some birds and meet all of your goals in one cast!
