Water: 59-62 Weather: Cloudy 10-15mph 74deg Technique: Biggish shad on boards Hit the lake with Nathan after work today. Got bait really easily a little after 6pm and headed to try a spot we found back a month ago (and caught 3 studs but haven't been back since)...should have though based on how we did again tonight. We fished from about 6:30 to 8pm and caught 4 with the biggest 3 going 13, 15, and 17lbs. I foul hooked the 13 in the bottom chin and it ran off so much line I thought we'd never get that fish in..I knew right away it was foul hooked because I've caught some 30 n 40lbers and never felt anything pull that hard for that long. Luckily there were no trees around. The 17 was a beast of fight too and it was hooked it the lip. The fish are strong as heck right now. I think the night bite may be getting good now and going forward..may be slow mid week with cold front but these warm temps have gotta jump start it. May try it next week sometime if the water climbs into mid 60s. 13 15 17

Nice fish, hope all the rain don't mess the lake up too much.

I see Mr. Blurry has struck again.
Just dont post pictures if you are that worried.
Been fishing SML for close to 40 yrs now, best not to brag unless you want a crowd.
You can't have it both ways.

Oh, you noticed?! Don't worry, I'm not worried about crowds. I've only been around SML for 28 years of my existence, so I have a lot to learn yet.

Slammer I have read quite a few of bentrods reports and I have yet to interpret any bragging. Confidence yes but I believe he has earned that. Anyways the pics he posts gives his reports credibility in my eyes blurred or not, and living 2 hours away helps me determine when to start hitting it hard. I do not live bait fish or care to and fish mainly at night however when they move up shallow its my turn to have fun. From my experience last Friday night the fish are scattered fairly well and not far away from me and my son having a blast at night on topwater. Bentrod thanks for your reports.... and the BLURRY pics! Chris

Honestly, I don't take it as bragging either. Hey, BentRod is on top of his game when it comes to striper fishing. ( blonde JSG's, not so much.) ......Mr. Blurry does'nt bother me either.....i've done it myself and don't blame him one bit. I remember a few years back, he took his grandfather fishing and posted up some pics with the bridge in the background. Not hard to imagine what happened...... Oh, he has told me where he's catching all those studs......if anyone is interested, shoot me a pm.
