We caught three fish last weekend (two 22", 1 23"). All of them had what I later learned are gill maggots in the mouth. I dont know why I thought this but I thought these were not really present in the lake anymore.
Do the majority of SML stripers still have these?

They are here and here to stay. What you most likely see is the copepods in their reproductive stage with egg sacs. You won't see them in every Striper you look at but they most likely have them.
