Been away most of the week on business...got back at about 5:30 yesterday. We decided to go on a bait run last night after stopping by Dewaynes to pick up some reels for yakforem. We got back on the water about 6:30-6:45 and I told yak we had to try one point before getting shad. 90 seconds in and we had caught this little 13lber (which he tried to spool us because he was foul hooked in the side..hence the blood about midline behind his head..it was a super fun fight..and he was released with no issue) Now the bait mission could begin! Loaded up at least 50 shad from 8-15" in the next 30minutes and we were headed back to da dock. Finished up the evening at Joes.

Is that a monster Hybrid, It's a Striper..no hybrids in SML that I know of. It's not uncommon for stripers to have broken lines.

Loaded up at least 50 shad from 8-15" in the next 30minutes and we were headed back to da dock. And this is the carnage that can happen when you get too many, too fast and your aerator/pump in the boat tank is not working at prime condition... (a little corrosion on the cable and a battery going bad result in lower voltage, slower running pump). I stopped by Friday evening (just over 24 hours later) to check on things before our trip Saturday AM..... Heartbreaking..... and let's just say the smell was nice 55 or so dead shad..... still have a good number of cured out ones swimming around happily among the carnage. At least bait is was easy on Sat/Sun.

Ha I couldn't keep bait good all weekend in my boat tank. Finally realized Sunday evening my battery was bad. Swapped batts and my aerator picked up.
I hate batteries. I bought two new cranking and tank batts last year from Walmart and both are shot just outside of their one year warranty. My trolling mtr batteries are shot for full day trips...they're ok for half days still. They're both only 1.5yr old. Guess I fish too much....
